Know before you go

Hotels, Food, Skiing & More

Picnic
There are lots of picnic area options, some with fees, but if you choose to picnic outside a developed site please make sure it's not private property, and of course pack out your trash.

Hike
The mountains offer a wide variety of trails for all skill levels. Check the list and conditions for closures, and remember to be courteous on the trails to your fellow hikers.

Camp
There are developed and dispersed campgrounds available and they fill up quickly. Reserve a campsite at www.recreation.gov or come up early to seek a spot along Mack's Canyon or Champion roads.

Snowplay Information
Snow on the mountain can be fun if everyone plays safely, so check out the best areas, rules, tips and programs.
