Event Details

Rangers help protect our public lands in many different ways. Join an educator and learn how to practice proper hiking safety, follow outdoor ethics, and explore your environment just like a ranger.
Please come prepared with proper outdoor gear. This includes closed-toed shoes, comfortable clothes, and a hat. Please bring at least 1 liter of water per person. Sunscreen is recommended.
Meet at the Spring Mountain Visitor Gateway 10 minutes before the start of the program. This hike will take place along the Acastus Trail, going west. This is a unpaved trail with gentle slopes up and down in elevation.
Participants will earn their Junior Ranger badge for the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area.

*Programs may be shortened or canceled because of heavy rain and lightning for staff and public safety. Our educator will make that determination before the start of the program.
*No registration is required for this program.
