Event Details

Join an educator at the Spring Mountains Visitor Gateway to learn how the animals of the Spring Mountains prepare for winter and how you can be prepared for winter as well. Please arrive 10 minutes before the start of the program. This program will take us along the Acastus trail. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable hiking clothes and dress in layers. Trails may be icy and traction on boots is recommended. Temperatures in the Spring Mountains can be 20-30 degrees cooler than the Las Vegas valley. Please bring 1 liter of water per person.

Participants will get a chance to earn their Spring Mountains Junior Snow Ranger patch.
4th-grade participants will get a free Every Kid Outdoors pass which offers access to many of America’s public lands.
*Program may be shortened or canceled because of heavy rain, heavy snow, or lightning for staff and public safety. Our guide will make that determination before the start of the program.
*No registration is required for this program
