About this Event
As the days get shorter and temperatures drop, animals in the Spring Mountains are getting ready for winter. Join an educator at the Old Mill picnic area to learn how the animals of the Spring Mountains prepare for winter and how you can be prepared for winter as well. Please arrive 10 minutes before the start of the program. This program will take us around the Old Mill picnic area. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable hiking clothes and dress in layers. Temperatures in the Spring Mountains can be 20-30 degrees cooler than in Las Vegas. Please bring 1 liter of water per person.
About this Location
The Foxtail Picnic area is located in Lee Canyon (Hwy 156). See our visitor-use map for more information.
Entrance fees for the Foxtail picnic area are $30 per vehicle. Parking is limited. First come, first serve.
Participants will get a chance to earn their Spring Mountains Junior Snow Ranger patch.
4th-grade participants will get a free Every Kid Outdoors pass which offers access to many of America’s public lands.
*Program may be shortened or canceled because of heavy rain, heavy snow, or lightning for staff and public safety. Our guide will make that determination before the start of the program.
*No registration is required for this program
