Event Details

Sixty-six years ago, a plane crashed on Mount Charleston and wasn’t talked about until years later. Today we honor the lives lost in the crash on Mount Charleston and the other lives lost during the Cold War. Join an educator with Go Mt Charleston to learn about this historic event.
This program will start at the visitor center and continue to the Pack Rat trial. The Park Rat trail is a moderate 0.4-mile loop hike. Closed-toed shoes and comfortable hiking clothes are recommended. Participants are encouraged to bring hiking poles, a backpack, 1 liter of water, snacks, and sunscreen.
Please arrive at the Spring Mountain Visitor Gateway 10-15 minutes before the hike.
Go Mt. Charleston is looking for volunteering to lead this program; if you are interested, please contact us at volunteer@gotmtcharleston.com
