The Spring Mountain Visitor Gateway has become a welcoming stop for visitors in the Spring Mountain National Recreation. It has wonderful amenities like the amphitheater’s and the seven stones display, representing different cultures and relationships with Mt. Charleston and surrounding area. This Visitor Center represent a constant place of change, a gathering place, and a place of refuge.
One of the wonderful artistic qualities of the Spring Mountain Visitor Gateway are the painted animal tracks, human footprints, and other symbols at the Seven Stones display. We have noticed as years have gone by the paint has faded significantly. We are inviting volunteers to come to the Visitor Center before opening to help restore these wonderful parts of the experience of the Spring Mountain Visitor Gateway.
Please know we are dealing with a thick paint meant for cement/concrete. You will want to wear clothing you don’t mind getting stained. We will provide the paint, paint brushes, face masks, and disposable gloves to help make this a successful project for volunteers. This is a small project and we are only accepting 5 volunteers, so sign up as soon as you can!
