Event Details

We support native wildlife on Mt. Charleston by removing invasive species that can take nutrients from the soil, crowd native plants, and block native plants from sunlight. Mullein and Russian Thistle are the plants we are after, and we need a group of volunteers to help us remove them. By removing invasive plants, we make room for those who can support the Spring Mountain National Recreation’s endemic species, like the Mt. Charleston Blue Butterfly!

This volunteer event will be on the Kyle Canyon Roadside on July 7th. Specific details are sent after you’ve regsitered. Due to the limited parking, the form to sign up will close after 5 submissions. We will provide shovels, clippers, gloves, and other equipment needed to remove these plants. Please sign up through the form below to participate in this volunteer event. Have questions? Email [email protected]
