What happens to the animals in the Spring Mountains in the winter? Join an educator from 10 am-11:30 am at the Spring Mountain Visitor Gateway to discover the adaptations that help animals survive in the winter month. This hike will take place on the Acastus trail. Trail conditions in the winter can be icy; please come prepared with proper winter gear. Traction on boots is recommended.
Temperatures in the Spring Mountains can be 20-30 degrees cooler than the Las Vegas Valley.

This program is for visitors of all ages.
Young participants will have a chance to earn their Spring Mountains Junior Ranger badge.
4th-grade participants will get a free Every Kid Outdoors pass which offers access to many of America’s public lands.
