About This Event
Stop by our education building at the Spring Mountains Visitor Gateway any time between noon and 3:00 pm to learn how different animals survive the cold winter months on the mountain, and how you can be prepared for winter as well! Information on the type of winter equipment you need to recreate responsibly, why Leave No Trace is important, safety information and snow maps will also be available.
Children can craft an animal with adaptations that help them survive winter in the Spring Mountains.
Enjoy hot cocoa or tea for a $1 donation and warm up by our fire.
Visitors are encouraged to wear comfortable hiking clothes and dress in layers. Temperatures in the Spring Mountains can be 20-30 degrees cooler than in Las Vegas. Road restrictions may be in effect, so make sure your vehicle is properly equipped. Road conditions can be found at nvroads.com and you can find all the details for planning a safe snow day on our website.
