Did you know that there are seven different life zones in the Spring Mountains? Life zones are a man-made concept that is used to describe changes in biodiversity at various elevations and environments. The Spring Mountain plant communities change quite a bit as you travel from the desert floor all the way to Charleston Peak. Like all good things in nature, these seven life zones that you pass through blend together a bit.
