Thank you, partners and volunteers, for a successful Green the Mountain 2018!

The launch of Green the Mountain was a huge success, and we couldn’t have done it without you. After years of knowing we need more than weekly and semi-annual pickups to address the litter issue, the installation of 13 new Bear Box trash and recycling receptacles will go a long way to curb the public from leaving their refuse behind. With 422 volunteers, and help from the US Forest Service and our community partners, over 2000 pounds of trash was collected from Kyle Canyon, Lee Canyon, and the Deer Creek Highway in celebration of the new program and National Public Lands Day. We also successfully collected over 100 pounds of recyclables in the first week of having the new receptacles at major trailheads and recreation sites.

From all of us at Southern Nevada Conservancy, and especially the Go Mt Charleston team, we want to express our gratitude for your support of the Green the Mountain program. Here’s to many more years of great work in the Spring Mountains to come!
