#PlantoftheWeek: Curl-leaf Mountain Mahogany (Cercocarpus ledifolius)

Named for its hard, dense wood and thick leathery leaves that curl upwards towards the sun, this plant is not a true mahogany but rather a member of the rose family. During this time of year, mountain mahogany blooms with small, fragrant yellow-white flowers. Later in the season, seeds take over the flower resembling long feathery plumes.
