SMNRA RECREATION UPDATE AS OF 3/1/21

Nevada Outdoor Recreation Survey
Outdoor enthusiasts of all types are encouraged to participate in a brief 10-15 minute survey hosted by the Nevada Divisions of Outdoor Recreation and State Parks that will gauge the public's usage, demand and preferences for various types of outdoor recreation activities.

Snow
There is still some snow in higher elevations, which will cause over-crowding in remaining snowy areas on weekends. Visitors should anticipate that over the weekend, entry to State Routes 156 and 157 (Lee Canyon an Kyle Canyon Roads) may be limited. Reservations at the restaurants and the Ski and Snow resort will be prioritized. If you visit these areas between 10am and 2pm, be prepared for delays, limited parking and lack of amenities. Our Snow Season page has all you need to know for a safe visit. ALWAYS check nvroads.com (zoom to the area) for road conditions during active weather events.

Weather
Weather patterns in the Spring Mountains can be drastically different than what the Las Vegas Valley experiences, and the Weather page offers multiple tools, tips and webcams to monitor conditions and forecasts.

Parking Restrictions:
Parking on the mountain is limited and will be monitored. Many areas are not paved and may be icy and muddy. When roadside parking, ALL tires must be over the white line. There are approximately 60 legal parking spaces open in Kyle Canyon and 40 in Lee Canyon. Visitors are encouraged to utilize the numerous undeveloped sites on lower SR 156, lower SR 157, and SR 158 if recreating on the mountain. The Lee Canyon ski area requires parking reservations (reservations are currently full through 1/31/21)
