Did you know that the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area is the most-visited unit of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, which is the largest national forest in the lower 48? Go Mt Charleston, a program of Southern Nevada Conservancy, serves this tiny alpine oasis by providing information, programs, maps, volunteer opportunities, and more to the
booming population of southern Nevada. All of this is made possible by donations, grants, and purchases made at the Spring Mountains Visitor Gateway.

How can you help?

Donate! Southern Nevada Conservancy is a 501c3 non-profit organization that accepts dotations to support our many services. Unfortunately, tax dollars are not allocated to the Spring Mountains to support the operation of visitor services, ranger programs, volunteer projects, and all of the other amenities visitors have come to expect when they visit public lands. Your support makes these vital programs possible.

Volunteer! Each year, Go Mt Charleston hosts over 1000 volunteers working on all sorts of projects throughout the Spring Mountains. We offer year-round opportunities for people of all ages and abilities, and provide all the equipment and training. Whether you have an hour to pick up litter or want to hike the trails weekly, we look forward to your help.

Participate! We have lots of ways to learn more about this fragile ecosystem and how we all play a part in preserving our forested escape from the heat of the desert. You can join a program, plan a field trip, or request a ranger program to come to you.
