Over a million visitors rely on the Spring Mountains to escape the heat and noise of the Las Vegas valley each year. After 14 years of collecting over 100 TONS of litter in the Spring Mountains, the Go Mt Charleston Team has been working to find ways to manage the litter issue and help visitors dispose of their trash properly. We want to give a huge, heartfelt THANK YOU to our wonderful community partners who have made it possible for us to continue our programs throughout the pandemic, including providing trash and pet waste stations at our busiest areas and supporting litter clean ups in the Spring Mountains. Volunteers were assigned to one of many locations for a morning of litter collection, then treated to a goody bag full of swag, live music, lunch, and beverages from our gracious sponsors!

This year's Green the Mountain totals:

  • 301 volunteers
  • 4500 pounds of trash
  • 100 rabbit brush shrubs planted, the nectar plant of some of the Spring Mountains’ endemic butterflies
  • 6 acres weeded of invasive mullein plants
