Over a million visitors rely on the Spring Mountains to escape the heat and noise of the Las Vegas valley each year. On National Public Lands Day, our Go Mt Charleston team hosted Green the Mountain, with over 450 volunteers who collected more than 5500 pounds of litter! We want to give a huge, heartfelt THANK YOU to our wonderful community partners for co-hosting this huge litter pick-up at the mountainā€™s busiest areas and supporting year-round litter awareness campaigns and cleanups for the Spring Mountains. Volunteers were assigned to one of many locations for a morning of litter collection, then treated to a goody bag full of swag, live music, lunch at Lee Canyon, and beverages from our gracious sponsors!

Have any photos from the event that you'd like to share? Email them to volunteer@gomtcharleston.com and we'll add them to the gallery below. Curious what sort of weird items were found while collecting litter? Volunteers found everything from diapers and car parts to a full portable toilet and a snake in a gift box, plus a message in a bottle!
